Hailed by Opera Today as a “polished, soaring soprano,” Jennifer Caraluzzi is an award-winning vocalist who has appeared with The Boston Pops, Opera Theatre St. Louis, White Snake Projects, Boston Opera Collaborative, and many others. Known for her versatility across musical genres, Jennifer has sung the roles of Laurie in Oklahoma, Marty in Grease, Toffee in Zombie Prom, and Polly in The Boyfriend, as well as standard operatic favorites like Cunegonde in Candide, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. Other stage highlights include: Miss Havisham in Miss Havisham’s Wedding Night,The Water in The Little Prince, Frasquita in Carmen, and Lucy in The Telephone. A regular performer with Boston Opera Collaborative, Jennifer has appeared as Stephanie in Jake Heggie’s To Hell and Back and in several short world premieres as part of the company’s Opera Bites festivals. Jennifer is featured in the title role on the critically acclaimed recording of Seymor Barab’s children’s opera, Little Red Riding Hood on Centaur Records.

Jennifer’s film and TV highlights include featured extra roles in Columbia Pictures Little Women (2019) and Walt Disney Pictures Godmothered (2020). She is also featured in voiceover work with Raging Cloud Studios on various radio jingles.

An advocate of new American opera and classical music, Jennifer workshopped Terence Blanchard’s first opera, Champion with Opera Theater St. Louis. Uniting technology and modern opera, Jennifer performed as a Facewear Artist for White Snake Projects, Permadeath. In addition, she has collaborated on multiple occasions with conductor and advocate of Gena Branscombe’s music, Dan Ryan. Jennifer sang the lead role of Rose Standish in the 21st Century premiere of Gina Brancomb’s Pilgrims of Destiny. Caraluzzi holds a joint MBA from Berklee College of Music and Southern New Hampshire University, and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from New England Conservatory.

 

As a performer, I have rarely seen such an ability to connect with an audience. Jennifer's incredible artistry combined with genuine humility, creates performances that are infused with love, humor and beauty. This generosity is evident in all facets of Jennifer's life. Children’s Opera

One of her most recent projects included the recording and release of Seymor Barab’s children’s opera, Little Red Riding Hood on Centaur Records, featuring Jennifer in the title role.

Opera News praised Jennifer’s performance as “a sprightly, appealing portrayal of Little Red Riding Hood, especially during her journey through the woods.”

The success of Little Red has led to the next children’s opera recording project: Engelbert Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel, on which she will sing the role of Gretel.
